Nov 2002	George Brown	George Brown has finally retired from Instructing after 27 years although he will still be tugging, of course only in the Pawnee ! His work over the years and encouragement to younger pilots is appreciated by everyone. A big thank you from all the members.
20th Oct 2002	Andy Bardgett	Completed refresher training with Roy Gaunt for re-issue of restricted instructor rating. Check flight with CFI, Andy is now on our books once more as a full cat instructor with the restriction of only being able to fly with pilots who could reasonably be expected to land the glider themselves. August 2002	Dave Wilson Leon Adamson	Pocklington 2 Seater Comp. On the first day eveyone landed out but Dave Wilson & Leon nearly reached the first TP in the Eagle. I think they flew around 40km which made them 5th for the day so,the only prize winners from Borders during the week.
August 2002	Paul Brookes Andy Bardgett	Pocklington 2 Seater Comp. Completed an 82 Km O-R, Pocklington, Scunthorpe & return coming 10th for the day.
August 2002	Geoff Forster Derek Robson	Pocklington 2 Seater Comp. Completed an 86km O-R from Pocklington to Sutton Bank & return. They came 9th (out of 32 or 33) for the day.
16th August 2002	Andy Bardgett	280km : Declared a diamond task, Milfield, Duns, Scotch Corner, Milfield.Total distance 311km. Unfortunately did not get back but landed out at a house called Knogley just alongside the A697 North of Longframlington. Returning North of the Tyne the lift was dying so I diverted East to reach more hospitable landing and retrieving fields.My longest declared flight - I'm dissapointed not to have completed the task but pleased with the total distance. Next time !!!!

12th March 2000	Bob Cassidy	Finally decided to put a Barograph in his PIK20D and get his Gold Height. He climbed to nearly 13,000 ft in a 5 hour wave flight.
11th March 2000	Roger Cuthbert	Completed a 100km triangle in wave in his Vega. This also means the completion of his Silver badge as one of legs was more than 50km.
4th March 2000	Alex Latty	Completed the last leg of his Silver badge by landing at Pegswood to obtain his 50km, after 7 attempts !!!
4th March 2000	Keith Latty	Keith flew to Currock Hill again and put his name on the Hotspur Trophy for the second time. This means the current score is Borders 2 Currock 1. Keith has flown the 76km twice in his Skylark 3 and has proved that you don't need glass to fly cross country. He was awarded a token wooden key to the Northumbria club house at this years AGM for his achievements.
