George
Brown has finally retired from Instructing after 27 years although
he will still be tugging, of course only in the Pawnee ! His work
over the years and encouragement to younger pilots is appreciated
by everyone. A big thank you from all the members.

Completed
refresher training with Roy Gaunt for re-issue of restricted instructor
rating. Check flight with CFI, Andy is now on our books once more
as a full cat instructor with the restriction of only being able to
fly with pilots who could reasonably be expected to land the glider
themselves. Well done Andy from the CFI..

280km
: Declared a diamond task, Milfield, Duns, Scotch Corner, Milfield.Total
distance 311km. Unfortunately did not get back but landed out at a
house called Knogley just alongside the A697 North of Longframlington.
Returning North of the Tyne the lift was dying so I diverted East
to reach more hospitable landing and retrieving fields. My longest
declared flight - I'm dissapointed not to have completed the task
but pleased with the total distance. Next time !!!!
